Martti Ahtisaari -cancelled
In honor of the late President Martti Ahtisaari, Posti issues a mourning stamp on 15 December 2023.
President Martti Ahtisaari died at the age of 86 on 16 October 2023 in Helsinki. He was born in Vyborg on 23 June 1937. He was the President of the Republic of Finland from 1994 until 2000, and he was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 2008.
The black-and-white stamp features President Ahtisaari and has the text “In Memoriam Martti Ahtisaari 1937–2023".
The mourning stamp was designed by Timo Berry. The photograph used for the stamp was taken by Tuukka Koski.
